Begin Again

Everybody wants to go to the party but nobody wants to drive Everybody wants to go to heaven. but nobody wants to die You say that your a work in progress but you never worked a day in your life I guess success is energy plus time Everybody wants a beautiful garden but nobody wants to dig Everybody's gonna write that novel but you haven't even started it If you never dip your foot in, what hope do you have to ever swim? It's gonna take some loss to ever win And I know I could walk away today And it's more tempting than I'd like to say Cause I'm swimming in the residue of an idiotic teenage boy who believed that grief held more artistic value than joy And went out of his way to avoid anything else So here I am again, sad as hell again And Im starting to think it's just the person that I am But every era has a start, and every era has an end So Im starting to think that I need to begin again Everybody thinks they know what they're doing but nobody has a clue Fake it till you make till you start to believe till it eventually becomes the truth A paper mache dam that's damned to crack and break when everything falls through The truth is everybody's making do Really I'm just tired of giving advice that nobody ever asked me for Used to think the things I said were important but it's been said better before So if you need me call me up and we can catch up on our ongoing wars Try or don't - the choice is yours And I know I could walk away today And that's why I choose to stay So here I am again, sad as hell again And Im starting to think it's just the person that I am But every era has a start, and every era has an end So Im starting to think that I need to begin again Be who you are unless who you are is a big, dumb, piece of shit In which case, be better, be better
