I Have to Keep Going On

Why are we so unteachable? Why are we so irreversible? Why do we allow all this to happen? Why don't we change anything? We know where all this is leading! We understand that we are losing everything We are giving up our future and our home We are destroying everything we love When I can't sleep at night I see everything go up in flames I see how we crumble to ashes And I hear the earth sigh softly But I have to keep going on I have to keep going on Go on! And the stars turn pale The sky hangs low The sun shines weakly The rain doesn't let up Our dreams are seeds waiting for the rain My wounds are closed, but still I feel that pain My scars are hidden but yet their ache remains I have often failed, but I always try again I have to keep going on I have to keep going on I pile up my fears I seal away my dreams I hide my faith So at least something survives My thoughts have never been so black I wait for hope, but will it come back?
