In time immemorial A poor soul is seized for violent worship Victim of obscenity Unjustly immolated for a mad god Bones left to smolder in the swamp Deprived of peace for years untold Long lost from human gaze Lies an uneasy facade Shrouding under the surface Its sordid history Inhumed far beyond the loam Charred remains ravaged by time Squalid burial borne of contempt As sunlight glints through unfurled branches A stray beam illuminates the forgotten mound Innervated by the iridescent glow Ancient anguish stirs Remnants once forsaken Reanimated in enigmatic ritual Forged in the fire of unrequited fury It is reborn Murky recollections of a wretched past Beget its ponderous ascent Outstretched limbs mangle the soil Piercing claws compelled by the pining light Once torpid, but regaining form Grisly gaze set to the solemn sunless sky Baleful reprisal rising anew Ravenous to enact its wrath on the world Which abandoned it
