Allow Me Say

Just for a second if you people would allow me say How many of you took a step outside your world today How longs it really been since you tried to communicate Share your opinion with a stranger in a peaceful way They say we false It's city living but the streets ain't got no pulse Like we don't care Im feeling all alone is anybody out there Wake up one day And realise that chasing paper chased our lives away Did we try to change Oh no My brother told me it's a crying shame So people care about material things My social conscience got me wanting to commit my brain Make something of me then give back to my community Your mind at ease While somewhere else there's someone crying in their sleep We got empty homes While people line the street's they ain't got nowhere to go If we could trade, I'd take your money so that I could take their pain away Maybe we could all be saved But no It doesn't look like that's gon happen It doesn't look like that's gon happen Eh eh eh, it doesn't look like that's gon happen It doesn't look like that's gon happen Make no mistake, life is hard it is challenging it is confusing And yes, we are each individually charged with our own survival But survival does not entail isolation The subsistence of one does not require the destruction of another This fallacy is but a product of the society we have created And while inequality is claimed to be a matter of perspective Too many will continue to turn a blind eye Sentiment is not a weakness It builds bridges, and forges alliances So that we may stride on towards tomorrow And the next day And the next day Not shackled by fear But liberated by our shared humanity
