I'm 21 now School is a thing in the past Remember book bags and tag? Time is flowing so fast Handball and hopscotches Beep test with stopwatches Now I'm working overtime And check up on my wristwatch I'm walking through my highschool For memory lane Step on the football pitch Where I played all of my games Lunchtime for socials And after class vocals Gossiping the rumors Showing off my new mobile I miss that we had classrooms To see all of your classmates I barely see my friends Only Instagram updates Now I'm making friends Because we study together Instead of Yu-Gi-Oh cards And getting muddy together I think I'm missing my friends These days a little bit more I reckon lockdown is killing me Getting to my core Not that I'm feeling alone I'm just feeling introspective I'm reminiscing And I've gained a new perspective People are selective Protective of their selves It's hard to stay connected With the cards that we're dealt This isn't bad subjectively It's only sad objectively Sometimes we're just too busy No time to dust the shelf... ...off and try to reconnect Sometimes it's just too hard Your friendship isn't bad You just drifted apart My glass isn't half full It isn't half empty The glass has no water in it Maybe that is plenty
