Staircase

It's been an uphill battle The aches stopped long ago, my head still hurts though The holes are getting bigger, but I must carry on Gotta pick my feet up and get closer to the sun I know That you can't go much longer, the staircase seems taller You can't even bother anymore Is there much point in moving, it's all that we've been doing There is no end in sight Step by step, we will fly We will push past our limits It seems hard to go on But you just have to put One foot in front of the other, keep your eyes ahead The only way of stopping is if we drop dead We're almost halfway there, we're almost at the top However it seems that these stairs will not stop I see the plateau Has it really been that long since I decided to go No Has time really passed me by, do I even know what's right Did I board the wrong flight Time goes on, and it seems as if I have made no progress at all Is this my life Giving up seems closer, but I know deep inside I must put One foot in front of the other, keep my eyes ahead The only way of stopping is if I drop dead I'm over halfway there, I can see the end To live I must push myself one more time One more time Are you there, I've felt so alone Walking up these steps all on my own Is there a ghost stepping by me I can feel the heat of someone by my side I will keep on going if I can see you in my life One more time One more time One foot in front of the other, keep your eyes ahead The only way of stopping is if we drop dead Just a bit longer, we will make it through I know it seems impossible to you Above the clouds we are now Floating on top of the world The city shines under the sky
