Once there was a lighthouse Shining in the night Ships out on the coastline To follow it seems right Cottages and castles line the shore Sunlight through the glass on a Dusty wooden floor Right by the lighthouse Searching in the dark Cared for by a sailor Looking for their heart Waiting by the coastline For the ships to arrive Hoping that the maiden of the sea Is alive Back to the lighthouse The sailor growing old Telling children stories Of adventure and gold Once there was a lighthouse
