Now I don't have the clearest recollection Of the car you drove nor the colour of your eyes But you've been turnin' up again in conversation Now and then to my surprise Well there's a buzz around your latest exhibition And all the glowing adulation that you've had Me I've fallen out of practice I haven't Put the paint to canvas since you left And I keep learning more about you And all the changes you've been through Well I changed too Yeah I changed too And there's a general consensus you seem happy And that you laugh and smile and sing a little more It's not a compliment I've gotten but I'm not gettin' out as often as before And I heard you'd settled somewhere in the country You even made the final payment on your house Well I thought maybe you'd come back But I'm not half as confident about it now And I keep learning more about you And all the changes you've been through Well I changed too Lord, I've changed too
