Some say age is just a number and just a state of mind As I'm growing older, well I'm curious to find Some people I admire, who embrace a vibrant stage And have them as role models, to help me turn that page I sure admire that Sir Paul, as he keeps on, rockin' on And speaking of rock royalty man, you gotta love Sir Elton John Jane Fonda also made my list, politics or not Don't matter what YOU say, I say SHE'S HOT But Clint Eastwood always "Makes My Day", he always makes me grin He wakes up every morning chanting, " don't let the old man in " Well Eight - ty, Eight - ty, how my gonna feel turnin' eighty Depends on my activity The answer not so simple to see If floaters begin to cloud my ability Will I scale steep mountains, and push through once again Or trade my trusty hiking poles, for an old-man cane Can I pedal my bike up to the top of Vail Pass Or will that Ol' mountain trail go on and kick… my… ass Although I'm pushin' seventy-three Not yet sensing my mortality My memory might be foggy, my body movin' slow But in my mind, I'm thirty years ago Coz, age IS just a number and just YOUR state of mind As YOU grow older, be curious and find Some people YOU admire, who embrace that vibrant stage Let 'em be role models, Let 'em be role models Let 'em help you reach YOUR GOLDEN AGE
