I’ve played 600 cover gigs at 4 hours apiece I could probably play Wagon Wheel perfectly in my sleep And I know as day jobs go I’ve got it pretty fuckin’ sweet But man I’m tired I’ve got 1200 songs that came directly from my brain But I know 90% of them won’t see the light of day And sometimes it’s pulling teeth tryna find something new to say Or get inspired I didn’t promise anyone That I would never give it up But man I really don’t know what I’d do instead If it makes you happy It can’t be that bad If it makes you happy Then why the hell are you so sad? I heard “do what you love for work and you won’t work again” It’s more like “watch what you love become the work that never ends” And I feel like such a whiner, but that’s kinda how it is Can I find myself in this or will I lose it?
