The Queen

There's a mountain and a valley far from here And a castle in the mist where all the treetops disappear And its towers can be seen from far away But you can't step foot inside unless you pay On a throne inside the hall there sits a queen And they say that she's the prettiest that ever has been seen And her goodness flowed like light from chandeliers But the king beside her liked to rule with fear All of those around her thought she had it all Eyes of Winter, light as Spring, with all the warmness of the Fall And the king once made her happy, so she said But the slaps upon her face since made her dead So to stand up to the king she never dared She's a woman that looked strong but choked inside on her despair And her intuition was to run away But her inhibitions forced the girl to stay So one night after the king was fast asleep Fingers fastened on the dagger by their bed that she would keep Weeping silently she lifted up the knife But the act was what could bring her back to life There's a mountain and a valley far from here And a castle in the mist where all the treetops disappear And the people in her kingdom all rejoiced 'Cause the queen had dared to exercise her choice
