This is a generational long game Starts with indoctrination Ends with a loss of trust In a system we emptied our faith in Can't take words back but you'll ban Every book you get your hands on That defies the narrative you've built your base on Cause a dictator can jail his opponents Without any probable cause But a GOP majority Can fabricate new biased laws (And they fucking will!) Can't win without suppression Of votes and decreased turnout Convince your base that it's been stolen Cause when all the fires have been extinguished And you survey this blackened landscape Will you still paint it red white and blue Or in the color of your brand new makers? And when a politician finds false revolution lucrative I'd say we're way past sins we can forgive Two hundred plus years of election faith Go straight down the drain
