Ouroboros March

Lights flash before my eyes closed tight I breathe in dust and smoke The earth shakes with righteous anger Without my feet beneath me the world spins round Fade Silence, merciful quiet in the air Hope leaves in a breath, stolen from within me Fire carves a path across my eyes And flesh begins to boil There is nothing left for me here There will be no one left alive Here like the many, battered and trampled Scorched Earth a bed for their sins I wander, shattered and empty Through the sea of hopeless souls Ichor surrounds, a pallor reigns This place is hollow and filled with pain The sounds of sinew, clawed from the bone - harmonious now to my twisted mind
