Slow down Slow down You don't need to hurry Slow down Slow down Drain your head of worries Slow down Slow down Don't you pander or pout Slow down Slow down You're in time out I checked myself into a psych ward on a Tuesday I called my job and said I'm in the hospital, excuse me But ima be absent for a couple days or maybe more They took me vitals, snipped my clothes, and sent me to the fifth floor I met me roommate cause he walked in on me when i was peeing He Said his name is Danny, he works in finance, tomorrow he's leaving You're gonna see some things in here, ill give you this heeding And heres my number so that you can call me if you need me To pass the time I built a puzzle played some solitaire And listened to the nurses talking bout their medical affairs And listening I couldn't help but feel a disconnect Like I'm a patient and they're working strictly for a check A nurse came over took my blood she made some mistakes They had to call another over for a retake two other patients start a fight they got their fists raised And theres a man in here confused about his sex change Slow down Slow down You don't need to hurry Slow down Slow down Drain your head of worries Slow down Slow down Don't you pander or pout Slow down Slow down You're in time out 3 weeks of group counseling follow I missed the last session but I'm going back tomorrow They wanna change they way that I think But the problems aren't the thoughts, they're the problems I think There's only so many times you can reframe a situation polish up a turd, its still a defecation Now maybe thats dismissive of me but i feel like If my situation changed i wouldn't need the therapy Because a mans got needs Sexual, physical, financially And lately I've been lacking in more than just one of these Its hard to compartmentalize when running on 3 hours of sleep Ill make a note of it in my autobiography About the time i went insane like an anomaly So count your blessings go and mark em on a scoreboard Or maybe one day ill see you inside the psych ward Slow down Slow down You don't need to hurry Slow down Slow down Drain your head of worries Slow down Slow down Don't you pander or pout Slow down Slow down You're in time out
