The Struggle To Right Oneself.

(A healthy bond between men is more than just a simple connection It's two individuals who understand each other's struggles It's two kids on the ground looking up to the stars and working together to get there It's one man improving because he saw another man succeed and it motivated him It's the urge to help each other out because who knows when help might come next It's two men that break down the walls of toxic masculinity Because they want to see all men and women live happily Now where would I be without these bonds?) I owe my friends my whole life, mom Without them I would only see the low lights, dawg They gave support when I was in the cold nights, mom And showed me right when I would have my own mind wrong They made me feel like it was safe for me to cry, mom And kept the color in my life like it was dylon I knew that any space was safe if they were right on It's like the radio had finally played the right song I'm at a point where I can leave behind the bygones And feel the hurt without the need to try to hide mine These types of bonds we have you only hope is lifelong Cause now I'm certain the supporters on my side strong I used to fear I'd never have what I do now I see my past and I can only say I'm too proud I made the types of friends I needed on my new route And left behind the old relationships I grew out Man, look at you now, you found a new crowd You found the brothers that you lost and built a new house You know that if he was around he would approve now They saw you living in your pain and helped you move out Congratulations (Man, my closest male friends have gotten me through so much And more than maybe they even know, you know Like, whether it's you know giving me advice when I need it Helping me see through things that I couldn't see through on my own Cause I was stuck in the moment Or just you know being there to joke and lift my spirits when I was at my lowest points) (Healthy male relationships are important Because we are socialized to be void of empathy We become unempathetic people without any form of expressive love We believe that gestures, simple ones like saying I love you Or giving hugs to your male friends can be considered not manly And it causes us to sink deeper if we don't strive to develop communities that help us unlearn This is what has personally helped me As surrounding myself with people who are willing to unlearn from the zeitgeist Become not just better men But better for themselves and their loved ones outside of their gender specific roles Imbued into our being by society) (Personally, I feel like healthy male relationships are important in keeping men mentally stable Because I feel like it's very easy for the most part for men to express their feelings and emotions to other men So that brings like a sense of validation And personally, for me I feel like maintaining my relationship with my dad over the years has been really important In keeping me going and making my mental health, you know, not plummet as much as it has already Because he gives me really good advice And he) (We live in a world where men expressing their love for one another is so ridiculed We feel it and we know we feel it but it's hard to say it So, we've almost had to create our own ways of showing each other we care It's really a beautiful thing to come from a broken norm It's pretty unspoken, but worldwide Everyone knows it exists, but we choose not to acknowledge it Because we know what it means We know what it means to dap each other up after it's been a minute Or to pass your boy a beer or to poke fun at one another You know, we found our ways to say I love you and I think that's beautiful)
