Calamity

At the cusp of eternity In the absence of space A sadistic epiphany Brings darkness to my day On a boat set to nowhere I am stranded at sea With the light slowly fading Is it getting colder or is it just me Suddenly I shudder At the thought of it all As a door appears before me As the light has now faded As it's gotten so cold Up in the void No stars to be seen No guiding light No hopes, no dreams Then the door swung open Flying off of its hinge As a figure approaches As time is stood still As my lungs fill with dread They begin to collapse As I come to realise There is no figure No door I am drowning still
