On the Ground

I can't watch the news today But I can't turn it off That won't fix me feeling this way That won't make it stop So just how many more do we have to lose Before finally we admit there's no excuse? So when the firing won't stop I think it's time that we talked To clean all our hands of this blood So lay your guns on the ground There's no need for them now Though I'm not sure there ever was I can't read the news today But I can't put it down That won't take this feeling away So I'll carry it around So gun control, that's fine with me If you can't be safe, what's the use of being free? When living here means we live in fear Enough is enough If we can't change, then we die in vain Enough is enough is enough So when all this arguing is done, who can say who has won?
