De-Chained

For the first time in a very long time, I sat down and did some soul-searching, and it wasn't easy There was more clutter than I'm ever remembering myself trying to gather, I don't like it, not at all Memories that are just lying around, covered in dust, things that I would rather keep forgetting Maybe it is time for me to let go, start anew, if only it were that easy to get rid of what's inside If I knew it would look like this in the attic of my soul, I would probably have stayed away from it I'm letting go of all of my chains, they are just tying me down to this place all the time Can't recall if I placed them myself, or if it was someone else, either way I am just so done Time for me to declutter my soul, getting rid of what I don't need, yes, I will be de-chained The more I kept looking, the more I started finding, things I never knew I had kept around Small little things, words and actions made by others, as chains they have turned so heavy Metal in the body makes you sick, but metal in your soul weighs you down so much further I have decided, I won't let things like this define me, I will just keep taking these chains off I'm not pretending it is an easy thing to do, for some it may be impossible, but for me, it is the only way I'm letting go of all of my chains, they are just tying me down to this place all the time Can't recall if I placed them myself, or if it was someone else, either way I am just so done Time for me to declutter my soul, getting rid of what I don't need, yes, I will be de-chained This is no time to be chained down by what has been expected of me, I won't let it be that time It won't be easy, and people will have opinions about it, but I will try to become de-chained I'm letting go of all of my chains, they are just tying me down to this place all the time Can't recall if I placed them myself, or if it was someone else, either way I am just so done Time for me to declutter my soul, getting rid of what I don't need, yes, I will be de-chained
