I could have sworn it was a fear of falling But now I realize its falling away Throwing stones off the beaten path Memories fold from my head into my hands Making deals with devils; grinding stone with metal Aching of the heart These eyes flood with contempt The fear tightens in my chest The fear tightens in my chest There is no telling what comes next A fire forgotten, a muse misplaced Reignite these coals to burning flames Outstretched arms, covered in scars Knees buckled at the weight of the world I won't be crushed, I have too much to lose It's time to reconstruct and start anew
