What happens when you let it overpower all your thoughts I guess there's power in control You put a leash on all your doubts It's a cycle that's so easy to get stuck in You feel so trapped there ain't no windows in this building And it's so hard to let the light in You have struggled tried to fight it Reach for air but you are drowning Try to balance, this rope's tight You're scared of falling down It's all a test so will you take it? In a world where people fake it Everybody wants to make it And that's what I've been told my whole entire life Just fucking smile, look up, walk tall Pretend you've got it figured out If everyone's pretending and nobody is alright How can we act surprised When all this pain makes people wanna die? How can we change if we don't talk about it? We're all the same but we don't talk about it It's not a game, let's fucking talk about it We could be saved if we spoke up about it You call it therapy, but it's the opposite What if your music is the core, the very cause of it? Your brain's at war and all your cells are trying not to split But you just can't let go, you'd sacrifice your life for it The more I chase for it, the hungrier I get It's an addiction and I can't stop I won't fucking quit There ain't no rehab that can calm the fire in my gut There ain't no teacher who can help me to just give it up And I may lose my mind Maybe I'll get nowhere But I would rather try There ain't no other path out there Maybe this beast of burden is the answer to my prayers Without it I'd be lost so maybe this is just the cost How can we change if we don't talk about it?
