First time I rocked the stage I felt invincible Was only some homies with loyal principles Couple years later that shit was going up Then the next one flopped I guess it’s typical The highs and the lows of a growing project But had the same faith from the very onset Naysayers words never stunt my progress Only demonstrate my strength every time I offset They bitter attitude with a smile cause im bound to take off Investing in my day ones, it really paid off But had to put up walls once I found my footing Cause for my own gain lines I would cross Overstep, tip toe around the real issue Voice of Mr Morale I had to grab the tissues One year after I gave my voice a venue Showcasing my fears to show I stand with you Showing that I stand with you Through all the trauma, depression, and shock And the lack of clarity explaining a loss I moved here at 18 my mind in a dark place Spiraling in self hatred paired with a heartbreak Music help me see it lil different as our pain We ain’t special in what keeping us up late Still there’s no choice but to wake up and do it again Go on a tangent might be in over my head Most things always out of our hands Gotta let the scene play Crack a smile when it get to the end Show that expectations they are meant to be bent You can elevate when your knowledge willing to lend Four years by the beach lotta wounds I could mend Learned to see my insignificance as power in fact Prolly ten thousand emcees better than me But my story one of one, way I share they repeat Hours that Im putting in working like a machine But results are just a bonus see they ain’t guaranteed If I never reach the heights of the fame and wealth I’m just grateful for a lane to express myself Told em google it prove shit do what you gotta do Just know the truth it all lies
