I sit and watch as the people walk by I see the ripples on the water that is my mind Step too close to the edge you may fall in Turn around and kick yourself Never to be seen again Surrounded by trees that are surrounded by cars Won't someone tell me where we really are And the beam of light will travel on for miles Until it hits you and makes you stay awhile Time is a fleeting train or so it seems All things will come in time but how much time will there be The interruption of sound Your thoughts are moving so fast and so loud The lights are running thin All this time it's been sitting under your chin
