Sustain

I've been close to letting go And saying f*ck it, I'm done My mind, unkind, no longer home And I don't know where to run I am crying out for help Cause I no longer know myself And it's terrifying Don't have energy to rise I wanna sleep, I close my eyes And I I can feel my body getting tired So I will rest but when I wake I'll start every day by rekindling my fire The flame can drift but I refuse to let it die I have so much to give and it requires my light Though my world feels dark, I take one step at a time I let myself go and so I can find Inner peace It's the means to sustain Inner peace It's the means to sustain Things are slow, but there's a glow I haven't seen in years I say my prayers, set my intentions, hold my loved ones near And it's days when I still can't get out of bed And it's terrifying When the voices in my head start to scream I swear it's paralyzing And I I can feel my body getting tired So I will rest but when I wake I'll start every day by rekindling my fire The flame can drift but I refuse to let it die I have so much to give and it requires my light Though my world feels dark, I take one step at a time I let myself go and so I can find Inner peace It's the means to sustain Inner peace It's the means to sustain Where would I be if my fire went out And who would I leave behind What can I do to know why I am here And, God, how do I stay alive They said inner peace It's the means to sustain You don't have to search for it Because it's innate
