Buried within a cacophony of voices In quick succession, each one louder than my own The barrier of sound compressing The more I try to project, the tighter it's grip Around my throat This compulsion to create, failing No need for expression, mind rot Swear it's self-fulfillment When we both know This is a fair shade darker A voice within me reassures, "I need this" I fear that I simply don't have it in me to admit The misplaced energies I've spent On half my life snatching at vapors Locked in this echo chamber Where only I, am familiar with my own name Self-doubt reverberates Until only lingering thoughts remain Felt the need for change for a while now Refusing to admit I've lost my passion for this I've lost my passion for this And so many things Call me quitter If putting me down makes you wetter I'll slide in With my piece of mind To say I tried my hardest To be the best you've never had Buried within a cacophony of voices Each one louder than my own
