Chapter II: Ascent

I lived for so long feeling the noose around my neck Feeling the weight of the world on my back Walking through trails of corpses I've lost my humanity Hands around my feet trying to drag me To the place I must be To the place I must be Two meters below the earth Voices whispering blasphemies Persuading me to commit atrocities In search of golden paths I've lost everything in me I didn't sleep for so long For so long Is this my fate? How can I end this pain? My head burns My hands are tainted in blood That I'll never be able to clean Now I stare at the abyss while it stares back at me With it's cold black eyes Tell me Tell me how can I end this pain? Tell me Tell me how can I end this suffering? Will this power make me feel complete?
