Out of Darkness

We are afflicted, but not crushed, perplexed but not in despair With Jesus by us, we're held above the pain, believing puts us in His care For God who said, "the light shall shine out of darkness" Is the one who's shown in our hearts To give the light of knowledge of the glory of God In the face of Christ In this world we're punished, but not forsaken, struck down, but not consumed Delivered on to Jesus, we will be raised, for heaven's gate we have been groomed For God who said, "the light shall shine out of darkness" Is the one who's shown in our hearts To give the light of knowledge of the glory of God In the face of Christ And so we do not lose heart, though outside we decay, every day inside we renew Our passing suffering in mortal form, will yield rewards we never knew For God who said, "the light shall shine out of darkness" Is the one who's shown in our hearts To give the light of knowledge of the glory of God In the face of Christ
