Into the silence Into the shadow I heard a whisper Amidst the clatter Beneath the skin hear A drum is pounding You try to drown it I hear it louder You heard it once but You tuned it out for It brings up figures You can't account for Rattles it cage when You try to ignore Can't suffocate an Immovable force No running away Or moving backwards No measures to take To settle the score Just take your place and Dig in your boot soles To try and brace yourself For the outpour If I can find a place to fall You can market my ghost Well If I can bear your cross Will you pardon my soul If I could leave a piece of my shadow To shade the light that comes through your window And find a vessel that can harness my gold Lock the lid up tight and bury me in the snow Walk away and let the vultures fight for my bones Play your masterstroke while the ages mark up my stone And let go
