Hey Hey Hey Chill A little wonder, I turn on the news The whole world's on fire Yeah, it's been this way since the beginning of time Hate, violence, greed, lies Race wars and genocide Same species but borderlines Left vs right Men and women's rights What will heaven and hell decide But I know it takes time To figure out life I'm doin my best and I'm trying Try as hard as I might I won't always be right How did I get so cold Rage burns deep down to my chromosomes Hope for my home Everyone I know Are we far too young? And have we grown too old? The world's swirling around me Is it better than it seems? Solace comes to me When I shut up There's benevolence I found peace Then I learned the world is full of so many wonderful things A little patience But then it's all ok And then empathy reigns Eternally So take a little time And analyze before you decide Your selfish pride in that selfish mind Only bubbles up hate from inside One point of view in a wrinkle of time And never mind the billions and billions of lives All that you judged, all criticized Through that one set of eyes And yet I know it takes time To figure out life You're doing your best and your trying Try as hard as you might You won't always be right So what, it's all for-told The odyssey that lived before we ever known The ignorance that trickles up and down your throat Ey lil pessimist Just shut up There's benevolence Go find peace Then you'll learn the world is full of so many wonderful things A little patience But then it's all ok And then empathy reigns and it reigns And it reigns down on every child You got your hands in your pockets Cuz you don't care why You got that love in your heart and the greatest smile Yeah that's a heavy shield you wield But you wield it right So hey young fighter Don't be so cold The hate that you preach only tainted your soul So hey Hey Hey Chill
