Much Ado About Nothing

I think the sun is a wondrous thing Photosynthetic how it shaped my brain With symbolic ties Of the warmth and light Of a soul that shined so bright Decades have changed perception of things And all the angels have flown away Or we killed them all with airplanes La-la-la the love that you want You want it too much And you chose them on purpose when you knew you'd get hurt Held on like a paper doll chain It was a beautiful thing til you went separate ways We're basic matter in a solid state And there's no such thing as day and night When you live in outer space Tomorrow is the same as today But this town thinks too loud I hear all your dreams percolate like surround sound And we organize all our lives Just to feel something, feel something I feel something in the air Something sovereign like God Let it manifest religion, nations, politics, and war I don't know what it is or even what's it for But I wear it on my sleeve It makes me feel more important and Right and wrong it's all relativity When everyone thinks different things But thinks what they think is the only right thing And then we're all wrong in a century But this town thinks too loud I hear all your dreams percolate like surround sound And we organize all our lives Just to feel something, feel something And everybody wants a special feeling I wasted all my time trying to give it meaning Ideals and spirits and all we're not seeing Like we're objectively speaking But it's beautiful that we care this much I think it's beautiful that we'll never know enough It's beautiful to feel any kind of love It's beautiful to know That the ego's we build just to give our lives meaning Are also the reason for all that we're missing If you know you're gonna die is death even worth fearing It's painful in theory But what is pain really But this town thinks too loud I hear all your dreams percolate like surround sound And we organize all our lives Just to feel something, feel something And everybody wants a special feeling I wasted all my time trying to give it meaning Ideals and spirits and all we're not seeing Like we're objectively speaking
