In the dark my soul did tread Through the echoes in my head Whispers of the fire's breath Guiding me to my own death Circles down where shadows cling Demons dance and serpents sing I crawl through this mental hell Seeking light amid the swell Rising up from flames of dread Survival stitched with fear and dread Escape the past and torment bell Climbing out my own Dante's hell Faces lost and names erased Memories of war embraced Seven circles choke my mind But a way out I will find Through the smoke and burning coal Fighting for my fractured soul In the chaos I must stand Steady now, leave no quicksand Rising up from flames of dread Survival stitched with fear and dread Escape the past and torment bell Climbing out my own Dante's hell
