i saw a vision (interlude)

I was chasing enlightenment It's not what you think, it's self seeking They told me that I needed darkness to have light They said you have to embrace the darkness I believed them My life was almost stolen They told me I had to die before I died to reach peace This whole movement is fascinated with death, overcoming it We are human, specs of dust on this planet, vapor I cannot believe that for once I thought I was powerful in this universe I tried to create my own reality, but I am not powerful without God I must humble myself I honestly, I was being tormented by demons when I got further into these belief systems But God showed me a vision, Jesus is the only path to eternal life And this all happened to me while I was writing this album So I decided that I would share this story Because my experiences were so intense, and I will never be the same Honestly, when there is true light, darkness cannot coexist in it And what echoed in my mind through all of the hardship was Jesus saying Come to me all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest Take my yoke upon you and learn from me For I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls For my yoke is easy and my burden is light Matthew eleven twenty eight to thirty
