A devil adorned all your fears My voice, a knife wrapped in silk and lies Come, dear kin, let the show begin Raise your chin, erase the grin, the veil is thin My song, a serpent, coils around your hearts Drawing forth your joy as the dark imparts The chandelier trembles, their brilliance bleeds pale The shows about to unveil a cataclysm Please stay in your seat You will soon be blessed by the inferno's caress My haunting aria shall summon distress I'd like to confess I might be possessed What a mess as I undress my flesh In protest, they express without finesse Their fears upon me in excess At my behest, all their lives are intersect Beholden to my crescendo Broken within my vibrato Let's carry on this wild tempo To the world below It moves in shadows, only half-formed Like a stain at the edge of your vision Caught between the world and what lies beyond A faint whisper stir in the fold of velvet curtains A woman in the balcony watches Her eyes hollow, her lips drawn tight Her head tilting as though Listening to a language without sound The orchestra moves as one, but they do not play Their instruments vibrates with no touch String pulsing with a strength too old to recall The conductor raises his hand But it doesn't come down A note ascends, not in music But in the shape of a scream (Made solid and cold) The front door flies open, but there's no escape Outside, no world left to run too Only an endless swaths of shattered glass and silence No footsteps rings in the hallways No voice can break the stillness that now reigns Nothing ends..it simply hangs..suspended (There's a hum, and undercurrent) Like the croaks of a thousand lost souls The seats are empty, the stage is bare..
