Up from the ashes flowers will grow Now may be chaos beyond what we know God called us human he said "Share the same blood" We call on his mercy, the great and the good For so many faces from so much despair Surrounded by candles and ribbons and prayers Love is our saviour it keeps us alive The fall of the mighty renewed with its rise All of our lives have been Touched by the pain We hold on to memories of those who've been slain And freedom's a standard our children we teach Kept in high exaltation where evil can't reach Held in the soul it is natures design Our faith is love not a mountain to climb The future hangs in the balance by threads But our voices are strong along the strands of the web
