Something awoke me at dawn Morning-birds arrive with a song And at this moment the world stands still A calming peace is all I feel The sun stirs up a gentle breeze And paints the sky like from a dream The earth has risen from its slumber Its serenity makes me wonder And at this moment I am a child Living life for the first time Everything seems so true And all at once, so brand new Its beauty takes me away I can feel the warmth on my face And at this moment I have learned All the reasons the world turns I have seen perfection Stood at the gates of Heaven
