How do you sleep at night Keep a sober mind And when morning comes You rise again I kept my fingers crossed Spilled my jar of ink The only time I tried I've got such weak skin So I'll fall asleep Shaking endlessly Cradled by my fear I sink through the sheets I can barely fake a smile So how come your spine stays so straight I've been breaking up inside For all the times I've hit the ground Lingered on the worst of days My need to second guess myself The wooden gate to my backyard Would cover my view for a while And I'd be sitting right there Avoiding a reason to smile And I'd be killing time Believing this would last Stuck beneath the sun The scales that blind our eyes
