Hedon Screams

The water touched to gold by the early sun Longing to feel its ripples upon my face I close my eyes to fix my last thoughts The snakes circle around my neck Their twisted skin cuts me My hands are tied but my fingers dig in A Sharp pressure upon my throat The light shoots upward The visible world rises before my eyes Seemingly I'll be hunted And the rope will break Blinded by dogmatic will I claw at the straws that remain Disfigured, forsaken and betrayed I Break from the shackles that enslave my soul I fall away Run into fear Rake away the sand My eyes, see but blurry now Out in the distance I see home But reddened skies Then I hear Hedon Screams and try to breathe Hedon Screams and try to wake
