Descending virtue Ascending vice The condemnation of mankind before your eyes It's set in motion There's no escape The gift of freedom is torn murdered and raped Our guilty pleasures absence of guilt Our continuation of living lives in filth Our need for self indulgence absence self restraint Has guaranteed mankind a certain world of pain We're unaffected and protected by our ignorant bliss We are uncaring, unaware of all the things that we miss The seeds of evil were planted there Before any of us could even know or care The tree that grew there Will yield more Its fruit is rotten down to the core Yet we devour with voracious appetite A rampant hunger we do not care to fight And thus we fill our bodies with greed and hate Then turn against each other sealing mankind's fate We kill each other and we smother every sign of regret Our own desire will backfire and will see to our end We're dissemblers We won't admit We're not blindfolded We just don't give a shit
