End of the Day

The end of the day, it's time to rest my feet I've been running and jumping up and down the street Sweat dripping down my face, looking for a sip of water At the playground no break, it's fun why bother Kids sliding down the slide, some swinging on the swings Others playing floor is lava, hear all the kids scream The sun is starting to set, it's time to go home The lava on, the floor is now gone Oh, we've been running, jumping, laughing all day Playing with my friends, no time to delay Now it's time to rest, put our toys away We'll dream of the fun and be ready to play Tomorrow we'll do it all again, hooray But for now, it's time to end the day The swings were soaring high, I felt like I could fly Caught a breeze in my hair, as I touched the sky We built castles in the sand, dug tunnels and moats Pretending we're pirates, on imaginary boats Tag, you're it, we run so fast, can't feel our feet Laughter echoing through the park, our friends we greet The stars start to twinkle, it's time to head back The day's adventures end, under the sky so black Oh, we've been running, jumping, laughing all day Playing with my friends, no time to delay Now it's time to rest, put our toys away We'll dream of the fun and be ready to play Tomorrow we'll do it all again, again But for now, it's time, for the day to end We'll close our eyes and drift to sleep With dreams of slides and hills so steep In the morning light, we'll rise and shine To the playground once more, where the fun's all mine Oh, we've been running, jumping, laughing all day Playing with my friends, no time to delay Now it's time to rest, put our toys away We'll dream of the fun and be ready to play Tomorrow we'll do it all again, again But for now, it's time, for the day to end
