Out on Halloween night, with my costume so bright Walking down the street, it's a spooky delight But there's a rule that we follow, it's easy to see If the porch lights are off, don't ring the bell, let it be No lights, no treats, that's how it goes If the house is dark, we skip it, everyone knows No lights, no treats, let's keep it clear We'll only trick-or-treat where the lights bring cheer The streets are filled with ghosts and goblins galore But some houses are quiet, we don't knock on their door If the windows are dark and there's no spooky scene We'll just move along, no tricks, and no screams No lights, no treats, that's how it goes If the house is dark, we skip it, everyone knows No lights, no treats, let's keep it clear We'll only trick-or-treat where the lights bring cheer Flashlights and laughter, we roam through the night Pumpkins and lanterns, glowing so bright We gather our candy from the houses in sight But the dark ones stay quiet, and that's alright No lights, no treats, that's how it goes If the house is dark, we skip it, everyone knows No lights, no treats, let's keep it clear We'll only trick-or-treat where the lights bring cheer So remember this rule when you go out tonight Stick to the houses with the porch lights so bright Have fun, be safe, and gather your sweets But at the dark houses, remember, no lights, no treats
