Geo-Gehenna

You stand in the middle of the battleground, the world you once called home. Fires blaze in the distance, and your gaze fixates on the hazy horizon, devoid of the tendrils of flame that drip from the sky and the devastation smothered under that above. Infinity acts as a brown and gray refuge from the red of above and below. You stare into the horizon, sharing an action with your ancestors but not an intent for it. They would have seen an unexplored world to travel into, a new frontier for those men who dared to venture where none had gone before, while for you, beyond that horizon is just more dust, decay, fire and destruction.
