I've been on a bender since I met you Although I haven't left the bedroom I've been scraping the walls for lead paint And rationing the remnants of fumes Threw all my clothing in your furnace Every thread rid of its purpose At the time I felt free And I guess I still should But I don't No I don't No I don't Another wasted afternoon The blinders don't work for me like I'd prefer them to But fate keeps me breathing just as well as a womb So I clumsily decay into this bed like it's our tomb Till someone can wipe my slate clean I'll keep transferring debts till I find the one that forgets me A nail in the temple Or just faint memory, I can't compare it to a feeling But it cuts me down easy If I leave this room, I might not make it back alive I'm gun-shy, and I'm bat-blind Lifespan of a black-fly If I leave this room I might not make it out alive So take the place you've set for me and give it to a passerby If I leave this room Good luck getting me to do the dishes I can barely clean the rags I use to clean my riches If I leave this room it means I've made it out of a tar pit Roll me up in a carpet Please someone get me out of this apartment
