When the winds wore down my weight and resolve And I succumbed to snow A ray of light came scattered from the source So I rose and ran for you The day I crossed the bridge on the run I can't seem to forego The ways of light and the colors you'd dictate I called them home for years The waning days bring means to withdraw And turn what's done undone But if I just let go for certain I'll fall apart The length I've gone, no use Along this blind and damned man's pursuit Is where I come to learn The end so desired is in sorrow I inspire I turn and run from you
