Ignorance

I got this pride in my heart Tearing my life apart Taking me away from the cross Giving me too much a loss And when I think I've got I really don't I go to the ground Right into my own hole I'm making idols of myself It's time to tear those down Locked in this prison cell Seeing myself drown These chains are too heavy My pride is too many My God is so ready He keeps me so steady yeah When He rolls in My pride rolls right out He takes all my sin And puts it in the ground Ignorance isn't bliss I've always heard of it It's become my own sin I'm afraid to admit I'll become the background A daily instrument Make my life whole Ground in like cement I'm sturdy enough so don't ground me out I'm tired of weakness always being left out When we walk around these walls we don't talk we shout This is how the lost will always be found When we walk around these walls we don't talk we shout This is how the lost will always be found My life isn't yours so why do I act like it I'm taking the pride and I ain't proud of it My life is in Christ He's my greatest pride The one that truly loves me Enough to go die On a tree it's true you've heard it before I heard it a lot but kept on to ignore Ignoring the fact that Christ died for me Ignoring the fact that Christ set me free Ignorance took over and it wasn't me The rest of my story is just past history But I live to tell the lessons I've learned Rewards in heaven I know I will earn You can get there too but you have to yearn Write it all down every pain it's your turn The pride took over but my God was greater I learned to love more and be less of a hater The pride took over but my God was greater I learned to love more and be less of a hater
