Well the local council demands that we come on board And come up with a plan that keeps stakeholders informed That the public space, that they've disgraced, is not that bad And hopefully with our online poll they'll quit being mad But the survey only asked yes or no questions We didn't give 'em a chance to even offer suggestions Before they knew it, and they could go through it, The land was sold and the people were told Highway 12 is coming through It's knocking down your hopes and dreams, And the public school too Cause the highway is coming for you So please fill out this survey and say we consulted you Part of the plan was that we'd host an open town hall But the client's are shit scared of facing the backlash to it all They want feedback, but only positive, Their not ready to hear, something derogative That's their prerogative But that's not how people share their honest opinions We need to be honest with the way we choose to listen We have to stop and take the time To listen to them Before we decide Highway 12 is coming through It's knocking down your hopes and dreams, And the public school too Say goodbye to the place you love To the local park, your favorite bar or your own home Hey Stupid!
