Smitten, vibrant, vain and beckoned by ruthless compliance With gravity and playfulness Unwritten poetry, uttered so quietly, melting in defiance Of textbooks and paving trucks I just want to be something worth saving Someone you'd want to love I am already something else Vicissitudes, voracious and wild I am not diseased Outrageous and defiled By sumptuous glances and flickers in your eyes Wanting to reiterate each spell, each surprise Knowing every tendency, should this be insufficient It could not have been entropy Violets sprout, hellhounds colluding Where moss grows on river beds Boundless and brooding While I had been sleeping On the carpet, gently bleeding From the night terrors Depleting and severing Tremors and turbulence, trepidatious unraveling It has been long, since I've loved like this In this burrow and bundle every warmth feels so sorrowful Permutations are menacing and beautiful Bottlecaps, night gowns and bread knives Slice through my thumb like anti-psychotics Torrential, feckless, acrobatic and dutiful An elastic betrayal, evenings amassing like parking tickets on my windshield
