Rising Tides

I'm on a boat Sailing along Something is coming, is it late for me to run? A raging storm, a beating heart My head is spinning and I wake back at the start Teardrops fall down my face How will I help Myself break free Of all these chains So many lows And fewer highs Will I be strong enough to fight the rising tide? I try to change But I just can't Wait for the vultures to pick up what never was Curtains fall Now I must play my role An actor on stage, I must face the drama, the cold And I smile, to survive, to stay alive I am marching on I keep marching on Through the darkness Survived the storm, I'm still in shock Now I start to pull myself back up to the dock It started raining, I almost drowned I know that a new low will always come around Teardrops fall down my face How will I help Myself break free Of all these chains Did I succeed? Succeed in life? I wonder whether all the work will be worthwhile I will keep working, keep trying to climb I will be captain of this boat called my life
