Part Of Me

The things I do each day I contradict what I say The man I long to be seems to escape me I've one desire to live as God requires But the evil right beside me calls to mind What I've tried to leave behind There's a part of me that knows what the rest of me can't see There's a part of me that fights to keep the dark from breaking free There are two of me inside, one that stands and one that falls One can hear the father when he calls And one leads me through empty halls My inner being is true And good I long to do But other laws are there Engaging warfare Oh who can see this fight inside of me And who'll save me from what I was before That's what JESUS came for! There's a part of me that knows what the rest of me can't see There's a part of me that fights to keep the dark from breaking free There are two of me inside, one that stands and one that falls One can hear the father when he calls And one leads me through empty halls But in the end I know which part of me will win For Christ has come and taken my sin onto him I won't forget that though I may lose battles like before With Jesus right beside me all the way I'll win the war!
