The Ides of March (Et tu Brute?)

It’s been so long my mind is really weary, Been so long my life is really dreary. And I’m waiting for a sign to come through; So tell me what’s a man like me to do? And I’m searching for a victory as I look out on the land, I’ve faced so many tragedies, no one understands. An old woman came and gave to me a warning, She saw in the stars an empire falling; And for The Ides of March to beware; But I didn’t want to know, I didn’t care… So I trusted in the friends I had and I found out way too late, That deep behind their smiling eyes, Was jealousy and hate.
