High altitude, low opening If you aren't familiar, let me fill you in Jumping high, freefalling fast Holding your breath, hoping it lasts They call it a HALO jump Sliding past the radar hum No one sees you, no one knows Until you hit, until it shows I didn't see them coming Too busy staring ahead Never thought to look up Never saw the danger spread Sometimes the worst pain is the one unseen No time to brace, no in-between Falling faster than you know From someone you didn't call a foe And maybe I'm the one in flight Dropping fast into the night Praying that the chute will hold Before I crash into the cold I didn't see them coming Too busy staring ahead Never thought to look up Never saw the danger spread Sometimes the halo is hidden Sometimes it's right in your face Falling deep into the unknown Hoping I land in a safer place High altitude, low opening The ground is closer than it seems Do I pull or do I wait?
