Hovering on Frozen Wings

Looking back I get to see All the hours I had ahead of me Some were good Some were tight Some were long And filled with a light So hot It felt like a fire On the phone When you were dying You were dying And I was fine Now my life is humming Like a bee when it's buzzing Never a time it was not so My puzzled worried eyes Flower in a field of snow A flower in a field of snow The winter hands have just let go We'd been hovering on frozen wings Waiting for The thaw In the Spring To come And free Our weary bones From an ice That's so deep We began To believe It was all That we'd ever know
